Les Chaux-de-Fonniers by Estelle Zamme deliver “Salut Zamme!”, an electro-kitsh debut album accompanied by a beautifully absurd clip. The tandem asserts and assumes a kitsh aspect which sometimes “borders on bad taste”.
Composed of producer and musician Etienne Bel and director and photographer Julien Ledermann, Estelle Zamme offers a crazy universe, which begins with the name of the group, whose members are unable to explain the “Estelle”.The “Zamme”, on the other hand, refers “to the concise form of ‘zusammen’ in German”, indicates Etienne Bel to the RTS. A formula (“together” in French) heard many times by the duo, from Swiss-German walkers, during mountain hikes: “Hi Zamme!”. This sets the orientation of the duo who have just released the aptly named “Salut Zamme!”, their first album.
